Level will be home to more than a dozen paintings by HOWL Gallery co-owner and tattoo artist Andy Howl. The paintings will feature classic Americana-inspired tattoo imagery, painted in metallic hues in the artist's pop art style. The paintings range in size from 2 feet to 6 feet tall.
The first of the set were unveiled during the Don Ed Hardy Fashion Show hosted by Level on May 30. Additional paintings will be added before Level's next event, Pink & Green Party, on June 12. All of the paintings will be for sale and range in price from $200 to $2,000. Sold work will be replaced by new pieces from the series. Fort Myers resident artist Andy Howl currently has a solo show titled "Retro Pop" at HOWL Gallery featuring his comic book inspired imagery. The solo show at HOWL runs until June 17 with an Art Walk Reception on June 5. Level is located on Hendry Street in downtown Fort Myers, across from the Downtown House of Pizza and Club Neo. HOWL Gallery is located next to Starbucks and Hotel Indigo on Broadway. HOWL Gallery is a new hybrid art gallery that features the very best local and national contemporary artists, and mixes in pop culture such as graphic novels and designer art toys with a custom tattoo studio. The gallery rotates art shows monthly and participates in the downtown Fort Myers Art Walk on the first Friday of each month. Gallery openings are held on the third Saturdays of each month from 7-10 p.m. For more information, contact Andy Howl or Alainna Zwiernik at 332- 0161 or e-mail the gallery at info@ howlgallery.com. The Web site is www. howlgallery.com.
